Histochemistry of synovium in experimental haemarthrosis in the rabbit.

چکیده
In a recent publication on experimental haemarthrosis in the rabbit we described many interesting ultrastructural changes that occur in the synovial membrane (Roy and Ghadially, 1966). Two such changes attracted our attention: an increase in the number of intermediate and Type B synovial cells, and the occurrence of many small and large vesicles containing fiocculent and granular material. However, the nature and significance of these changes can not be interpreted adequately on ultramicroscopic changes alone. It seemed to us that a histochemical investigation designed to study the variation in the RNA and mucopolysaccharide content of the synovium during the experimental period would assist in determining more precisely the significance of these changes. Such an investigation has now been carried out and the results are reported in this paper.

Evaluation of tendon healing using fibroblast like synoviocytes in rabbits: A biomechanical study
Tendon never restores the complete biological and mechanical properties after healing. Several techniques are available for tissue-engineered biological augmentation for tendon healing like stem cells. Recently, synovium has been investigated as a source of cells for tissue engineering. In the present study, we investigated potentials of fibroblast like synoviocytes (FLSs) in tendon healing. Si...
متن کاملUltrastructure of rabbit synovial membrane.
Recent electron microscopic studies of normal and pathological synovia have given a fresh insight into the structure and function of this tissue. The structure of human (Barland, Novikoff, and Hamerman, 1962; Roy, Ghadially, and Crane, 1966) and guinea-pig synovium (Wyllie, More, and Haust, 1964) has been studied in some detail, but only brief accounts of normal rabbit synovium can be found in ...

Injection of autologous blood into rabbit joints induces an inflammatory reaction with Maltese cross-like birefringent spherulites. Similar microspherules seen in human joint fluids may be formed by lipids derived from breakdown of erythrocytes and other cells.
متن کاملCytotoxicity effect of gold nanoparticles against a rabbit model of retinoblastoma
Introduction: Retinoblastoma is a malignant tumor in children. The goal of retinoblastoma treatment is to maintain vision and minimize side effects. In this study, the toxicity of the gold nanoparticle safety in vitro was investigated on an eye tumor of retinoblastoma under in vivo conditions. Materials and Methods: For the evaluation of the toxicity of gold nanoparticles using MTT test after 4...
